Creative
Services,
Social
Capital

The Afternoon Nap Society is an exclusive group of business leaders committed to supporting the local economy and social causes by using their marketing dollars to help pay it forward. Whether you’re a business owner or a business of one, you can start using your creative services to build social capital.

I’m a member of The Afternoon Nap Society because when I tried to write my own Etsy profile, it was as personable as an assembly manual. People usually buy things before reading assembly manuals — not after. That’s why IKEA isn’t out of business.

FIVE FOUNDING TENETS

The Afternoon Nap Society was founded on progressive ideals. Our business model is designed to leverage creative services to support the local economy and social causes, but moreover we define ourselves by how we live. We are committed to upholding our five founding tenets — and want to work with those who believe in them too.

01

 Integrity

Beliefs, actions, and methods are based on a core group of values — an internally consistent set of principles. In other words, be true to yourself.

02

  Honesty

Professional and personal conduct is open, authentic, trustworthy, and fair. Be the kind of person your mother, dog, and/or child thinks you are.

03

 Empathy

Caring about others and seeking to understand what a person is experiencing from their own perspective connects us. Know that sympathy is not empathy.

04

 Mutual Respect

Every person brings something of value to the table. Appreciate each individual’s unique qualities and see differences as opportunities for you to learn and grow.

05

Naps

We all need a break sometimes — physical, mental, and emotional. Remember to take care of yourself and do the things that recharge your spirit.
